Serving the Olney and Sandy Spring Communities Since 1972
Olney-Sandy Spring Veterinary Hospital is the combined effort of two long-established veterinary practices, Olney Veterinary Hospital and Sandy Spring Veterinary Clinic. While OSSVH did not officially open its doors until July 1995, our veterinarians have been serving the communities of Olney and Sandy Spring for almost four decades.
Dr. Jon Deitchman established Olney Veterinary Hospital in 1972 at the Olney Shopping Center at the southwest corner of Georgia Avenue and Route 108 in Olney. Dr. Norman Roskin purchased Sandy Spring Veterinary Clinic in 1977. The clinic was located across from the firehouse in Sandy Spring.
The merger of the two practices took more than 5 years of careful planning and construction. The result is Olney-Sandy Spring Veterinary Hospital, a 9,500 sq. ft. facility featuring striking architectural and functional elements, including soaring ceilings, skylights, an indoor atrium, and separate cat and dog boarding areas.
Today, OSSVH continues to offer a clean, comfortable, professional setting where pet owners and patients can count on the highest quality veterinary care provided by competent, caring veterinarians and staff.
AAHA Accredited Since 1997
The American Animal Hospital Association provides accreditation to animal hospitals that exhibit the highest standards of veterinary care and a commitment to preventive medicine. AAHA sets standards for hospital services and facilities in 12 specific areas and AAHA-accredited animal hospitals must meet these standards.
OSSVH is proud to be an AAHA-accredited hospital since 1997. Learn more about the AAHA standards we meet.
