At Olney-Sandy Spring Veterinary Hospital, we’re always eager to welcome new patients and their families to our practice. To make sure you and your pet have the best possible experience with us, we’d like you to know a little more about our hospital policies.

New Pet Paperwork

We require all new patients to complete some paperwork prior to the first appointment. You can fill out our New Client Form online.

Appointment Policy

To allow ample time for patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment and we make every attempt to see each client on time. However, emergency cases always receive top priority, which may cause an occasional appointment delay.

We also offer drop-off appointments. You can drop off your pet with us in the morning and our veterinarians will examine your pet between scheduled appointments. The veterinarian will call you after the examination to go over the diagnosis and give you discharge instructions. A hospital daycare fee will be charged for this convenience.

We request as much advance notice as possible in the event that you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment or procedure. This will allow us to offer the timeslot to another client. Please call us at least 24 hours prior to any appointment changes and 48 hours prior to procedure changes.

Leash and Carrier Policy

For the protection of all patients and owners, dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms. All cats must be kept in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash. We ask that you please leash your pet or put him or her in a carrier before entering the waiting room.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, CareCredit, cash, and personal checks.

OSSVH is pleased to discount office visits and outpatient services for seniors and active duty military personnel. Clients over the age of 65 receive a 10% discount on veterinary appointments on Wednesdays and Thursdays. (Senior discount is not applicable for surgical or dental procedures.) Proof of age is required. Active duty military and their family members receive a 10% discount on veterinary services with a valid military ID. Discounts do not apply to boarding, grooming, food, and reproductive services and cannot be combined with other discounts.
